Ground floor, courtyard level
These were the merchant's stables, and they still have the proportions: low, wide and thick in the wall. A door opens from each one straight into the courtyard, where a small table is yours for as long as the sun stays on it, which in May is most of the evening.
The bath is a black freestanding tub by a narrow window full of leaves. Both rooms are step-free from the street, with wide doors and a level walk-in shower alongside the bath. The daybed takes a third guest, or a very long nap.
