First floor, quay and courtyard sides
The panelling in these rooms was under three layers of paint when we took the building on. We stripped it, repaired what we had to, and repainted it the colour of unsalted butter. It is not quite level. Neither is the floor. You stop noticing after a glass of wine.
Curtains run the full height of the room and close properly, which sounds like a small thing until you have stayed in a hotel where they do not. One Classic Room on the first floor is adapted, with a step-free route from the lift and a level shower.
